They made us laugh, they made us cry and then poof they were gone. But recently, there is a resurgence of shows getting rebooted. Here’s some of our picks! Hope you agree.
Hart to Hart
This classic mystery series of the 70’s and 80’s featured Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers as multi-millionaires who would go around the world being amateur sleuths. Who wouldn’t want to see this with a new cast with cameos from Robert and Stefanie?
I was so bummed when CBS ended this series about a P.I.(Alex O’Laughlin) who was turned into a vampire. As Mick St John, O’Laughlin struggled with his attraction to a mortal (Sophie Myers) while he dealt with his vampire breathren at night. It was 16 episodes of paranormal romance perfection.
This series is getting a fan resurgence thanks to Netflix. Pushing Daisies was a fun, campy show featuring Lee Pace as a man who had the ability to bring things back to life with his touch. It was only on for two seasons and also starred Anna Friel, Kristin Chenoweth and Swoosie Kurtz.
This Classic sitcom was one of the funniest sitcoms in the 70s and 80’s thanks in part to the late John Ritter. Who wouldn’t be roomies with either two hot women or in a reboot, two hot guys? The possibilities are endless with neighbors, landlords… Think about it.
Recently famed producer and director James Burrowes stated that there wouldn’t ever be a ‘Friends’ reboot or a reunion. But do you ever imagine of that cast of characters were dealing with all of the present day stuff like twitter and Facebook? I can just imagine Phoebe trying to post song lyrics on twitter. Hysterical.
This action-adventure series featured Richard Dean Anderson as a secret agent who was a troubleshooter for the US gov’t. The man could make everything from anything. There’s an apparent reboot of this happening. Hey Henry Winkler, how about a female MacGyver?? Hmmmm…
Sliders was on for five seasons on two different networks. It featured Jerry O’Connell, Kari Wuhrer, John Rhys-Davis and others as they travelled through a wormhole to slide between different universes. Can you imagine this series doing that in present day? Come back!
Buffy: The Vampire Slayer
Who doesn’t want to see Sarah Michelle Gellar and crew come back to kick ass for one last time? Doesn’t anymore else wonder what Buffy is doing in 2016? How about Willow? I do!
The Twilight Zone
Yes, there are been reboots and even a film, but I say bring it back. There are still some awesome, creepy stories to tell with some fresh new writers and actors that i’m sure would be willing to write and act in them.
I’m still mad at Fox for cancelling this one season wonder. Even though it got a movie, I sincerely hope that one day we get to see Mal, Zoe and Company again for a longer period of time. Their stories weren’t over.
